Royal Wedding Street Party In Atlow

The A52s have contracted Royal Wedding fever…or maybe we like a good party when we see one! We’re looking forward to celebrating the happy couple’s big day at the Royal Wedding Street Party in the little village of Atlow.

The event press release reads as follows:

Celebrate the Royal Wedding in style with Atlow’s Street Party, on the evening of Friday 29th April.  Party-goers will enjoy live music; a Hog Roast using an Atlow-reared rare breed pig; a bouncy castle; games and locally brewed ale.

“We are thrilled to have secured the brilliant A52s, as well as Dave Rice from the Scottish Band Sticky Willie,” said organiser, Monty.  “The evening will start at 6.30 and will go on for as long as people want it to.  Atlow has a great reputation for hospitality and we’re going to have a cracking evening.  William and Catherine will really miss out, but we’ll all raise our glasses to them.”

Dave Rice is a superb guitarist based nearEdinburgh and specialises in Blues, Country & Skiffle.  The A52s are a popular local band playing folk-tinged acoustic rock, with a repertoire of well-known favourites.  They can be contacted via their website,

Chris Radlett, from the A52s said “the Band is really looking forward to playing on the 29th.  It’s always great fun to share in the community spirit of these sort of events and the Royal Wedding is a great excuse for a party!”

Everybody is welcome.  Tickets are £5 (£2.50 for children) and can be purchased in advance from Monty on 370313, or Caroline on 370214.

Any proceeds from the evening will be shared between Atlow Church and Kniveton School.

How could we miss sharing a bill with a member of Stickie Willie! Check their website out here.
