Preparing for the Christmas season

Bolstered by the friendly reception given to us at The Legion, we decided to go on a world tour of Parwich! Next stop would be The Sycamore pub. We booked a slot with Janet on 19th December 2008 – a Christmas gig with all the festive cheer you could hope for!

We then realised that we ought to have a few Christmas songs in the repertoire. A trawl through our memory banks came up with some leftfield yuletide ditties (so no Slade, Wizzard or Frankie thank you very much!). We headed for the cheese cupboard with the Elvis number Blue Christmas, an obscure They Might Be Giants tune called I Saw My Baby Wearing Santa’s Beard and a sad song called Nothing For Christmas. Rob also adapted a traditional carol or two, one of which we turned into a Christmas message as a piece of promo…

Our publicity machine ground into action. Over-zealous use of Photoshop tuned our promo pics into more and more outlandish creations. Here are a couple of examples:

Sargent who?

Sergeant who?

Scaramouche! Scaramouche!

Scaramouche! Scaramouche!

Things were getting out of hand!
